Mr
Ian Ackland FIEAust CPEng MEIANZ CEnvP
CEnvP TreasurerIan
Ackland initially graduated in Chemical Engineering in 1970 and
worked in several organisations before joining NSW State Pollution
Control Commission at the end of 1980 to work as an Engineer in
the Clean Air Branch. By the time this organisation had become
the NSW Environment Protection Authority, Ian was a Regional Officer
dealing with all aspects of pollution control assessments, approvals
and licences for major developments in the Sydney region. He gained
further qualifications in a Diploma in Environmental Engineering
(graduate level), and a Graduate Diploma in Public Sector Management.
In 1995 he moved to the rail sector as an Environmental Auditor,
and this role extended in 1998 to cover audit and investigation
of incidents in safety and environment for rail operations, maintenance
and construction works. In early 2003 he accepted a redundancy
package and took a break from employment to carry out some home
renovation projects, some travel and to become fully involved
in the CEnvP initiative, firstly on the working party and then
as a member of the Certification Board. As
a Certified Environmental Practitioner and an Environmental Engineer
with more than 25 years of experience in the environmental field,
Ian is now available as a management systems consultant dealing
in environment, safety and quality, and able to provide peer review
of environmental impact assessment documentation. |

Mr Simon Beale MEIANZ CEnvP Simon is a Senior Environmental Scientist with MWH New Zealand Limited. He has over 20 years professional experience working in various government organisations and consultancy firms in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.
Simon has qualifications in science and forestry science from Otago University and Canterbury University and is currently a member of the Environmental Institute of Australia and New Zealand, the New Zealand Institute of Forestry, the New Zealand Ecological Society and the New Zealand Planning Institute. Within MWH Simon is the technical discipline leader for terrestrial ecology and is also a senior planner. He has extensive work experience particularly in the energy and tourism sectors with much of his work dedicated to preparing terrestrial ecological assessments and co-ordinating the preparation of multidisciplinary environmental impact assessments for projects throughout the country.
Simon is a member of an advisory group to the Board of Directors of the New Zealand United World College providing technical input to various site feasibility studies. |

Mr
Alan Chenoweth FEIANZ CEnvP Alan
Chenoweth holds qualifications in agricultural science, landscape
architecture and planning, is a Fellow and past national President
of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture, past President
of the Australian Institute of Horticulture and a Fellow of Parks
& Leisure Australia. He is also a Certified Environmental
Practitioner and a Registered Landscape Architect, Vice President
of Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (SEQ Division)
and a member of the national Certification Board, and is a Churchill
Fellow in social housing.
Alan’s experience over 30 years includes environmental consultancy,
tertiary education & research, and public service positions
in conservation, housing and a Commission of Inquiry, covering
the fields of impact assessment, botany, landscape design, parks
and recreation, conservation and land development. He has led
the Brisbane-based consultancy of Chenoweth Environmental Planning
& Landscape Architecture Pty Ltd for the past 13 years. |

Mr
Nigel Murphy MEIANZ CEnvP
CEnvP ChairpersonNigel
Murphy is a Director and Principal Environmental Scientist at
Earth Systems and Earth Systems Lao. He holds a Bachelor of Science
(Hons., Earth Sciences) and a Master of Environmental Science
from Monash University. Mr. Murphy is a Certified Environmental
Practitioner and also a member of, and National Councillor for,
the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand. Nigel
is actively involved with Environment Business Australia serving
as a National Director from 2003-2004 and the Australian Water
Association. With
more than 20 years of experience as an environmental and earth
scientist, he has developed a strong background in environmental
practice having worked in many interdisciplinary environmental
assessments and environmental management assignments for private
sector, government, aid and development projects within Australia
and abroad. He specialises in environmental project management
and multidisciplinary environmental assessments. |

Dr
Barbara Radcliffe BA BSc(Honors) PhD DipEd Grad.Dip.Occ.Health RSP CEnvP Barbara
Radcliffe specialises in environmental education and training and
the integration of health safety and environment within management
systems. She is a Past President of the SA Division of the EIANZ
as well as a National Councillor. She is a member of the Clean
Air Society of Australia and New Zealand, the Australian Water
Association, the Australian Association of Environmental Educators
and the Board of Management of Safer Communities Australia. Barbara’s
experience includes environmental training, management system
development and auditing, for a wide range of industries including
water treatment, hazardous waste facilities, vehicle assembly,
air transport, mining, and manufacturing. In the training and
education sector, she has developed and implemented curriculum
in environmental management up to Diploma level, contributes to
the occupational and environmental health programs at the University
of Adelaide, and was principal author of the Best Practice Environmental
Management in Mining Training Kit for Environment Australia and
the United Nations Environment Program. She has been a member
of panels providing advice on environmental degree programs at
the University of South Australia and Flinders University. |

Mrs
Tamara Smith CEnvP
Tamara Smith has over 14 years experience in the environmental industry including approvals management, compliance auditing, site environmental roles and project management. Her key skills include approvals strategy development, environmental impact assessment, policy application, environmental management of prescribed activities and environmental planning. Tamara also has strong experience in community and stakeholder management which complements her work in assessment, management, and permitting of sites.
Tamara’s broad experience spans across a number of industries in Western Australia as she has held positions in the oil and gas sector, as a regulator, in infrastructure and environmental consulting fields. This has seen Tamara successfully managing the environmental approvals from both industry and regulatory perspectives.
In her current role, Tamara is primarily responsible for providing advice on strategies for assessment and approvals of projects, peer review and project management. She is also a graduate and active member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
