Compliance with the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct is central to sound environmental practice and the credibility of the profession, and is required for persons who are Certified Environmental Practitioners.
Environmental practitioners are committed to practice in accordance with this Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, and accept personal accountability for professional conduct. This Code commits environmental practitioners to:
- Promote environmental principles
- Demonstrate integrity
- Represent and promote the profession
- Practice competently.
RECENT PROPOSED CHANGES TO CODE OF ETHICS
At EIANZ’s 2020 Annual General Meeting, the EIANZ Board put forward a Special Resolution seeking member endorsement for proposed changes to the Code to recognise Indigenous values and practice. A survey was conducted to seek feedback from all EIANZ members and CEnvPs. 220 CEnvPs completed this survey and attached is a summary of their feedback.
